- EFL Cup Winners 1972: Stoke City won their only major trophy in 1972, defeating Chelsea 2-1 in the League Cup Final.
- FA Cup Runners-up 2011: Stoke City unfortunately lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup Final.
- Championship Runners-up 2008: Stoke City won promotion to the Premier League in 2008, finishing in 2nd place behind West Bromwich Albion.
- Second Division Play-off Final Winners: Stoke beat Brentford 2-0 to gain promotion back to the third tier of English football.
- Europa League Round of 32: The furthest Stoke have ever reached in major European competitions is the round of 32 of the Europa League, where they were defeated 2-0 on aggregate by Valencia.

- Gordon Banks: One of football’s greatest ever goalkeepers, Banks spent 6 years at Stoke after signing from Leicester City.
- Stanley Matthews: Stoke’s greatest ever player, Matthews was knighted while still playing, which was into his late 40s.
- Ryan Shawcross: Signed from Manchester United in 2007, Shawcross was at the heart of the Potter’s defence for over 10 years, and became club captain.
- Jimmy Greenhoff: Greenhoff made over 300 appearances for the club, and was a key part of the EFL Cup winning team.
- Mark Stein: Stein was only at Stoke for a short time, but still managed to score 50 goals in just 88 appearances, before signing for Chelsea.
