    Iconic Swansea City moments

    • Welsh Cup Winners 1913: Swansea won their first Welsh Cup in a 1-0 replay against Pontypridd. As of 2025, they've won the cup 11 times.
    • First Promotion to the First Division 1981: Under John Toshack, Swansea rose through the divisions to reach the top flight for the first time, finishing behind Notts County and West Ham.
    • Promotion to the Premier League 2011: A 4–2 victory over Reading in the Championship play-off final at Wembley secured Swansea’s historic promotion.
    • League Cup Winners 2013: A stunning 5–0 win over Bradford City at Wembley gave Swansea their first major English trophy.
    • Europa League Campaign 2013–14: Swansea’s cup triumph led to memorable European nights, including a famous 3-0 win against Valencia.

     

    Iconic Swansea City players

    • Ivor Allchurch: Nicknamed the ‘Golden Boy of Welsh football’, Allchurch remains one of the club’s all-time greats. The inside forward signed for Newcastle in 1958.
    • Alan Curtis: A gifted forward and loyal club servant, Curtis had three playing spells with the Swans and later became a coach and caretaker manager.
    • Robbie James: A dynamic midfielder who made over 500 appearances for Swansea across two spells.
    • Lee Trundle: A cult hero at the Vetch and Liberty, Trundle’s flair and goalscoring made him a fan favourite.
    • Ashley Williams: Inspirational captain and key figure in Swansea’s rise to the Premier League and their League Cup win before signing for Everton in 2016.
